The Car Remake
If Someone was to do The Car Remake in 2013 what would you like to see?
shareWell since they'd find a way to make it totally unrecognizable from the original - admittedly not necessarily a bad thing - I would hope and pray they'd use the same Car. There's just something about it that's still cool even after 36 years.
shareThe same car and the same simple story. I love the film and think it's perfect as is.
shareInstead of remaking the movie, they should give the original the ultimate HD treatment, so the image quality is crystal clear with out any signs of grain.
shareNo need. I made a movie called...The Truck.
shareA possibly possessed killer truck movie!? Sounds good. Does it have a release date?
Does it have a catchy tagline? Like What evil drives... The Car

Both based on the same Stephen King story. One was even directed by him. They've got all the killer trucks you could ever need.
For a movie that's about a killer truck that's actually driven by someone and not possessed see Duel. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067023/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_1
I think there are a few others, but these are the classics. Or at least as "classic" as you get with killer truck movies.

You're entitled to your wrong opinion.
A must-see is Spielberg's 'Duel' with Dennis Weaver. His first theatrical release, this is spectacular.
I'll always love 'The Car' though. That honk is unforgettable.
Elliot Silverstien pointed out in the directors commentary that the honk was morse code for 'X'. I guess someone just thought it sounded neat.
shareActually, MN Bush, "Duel" was a TV movie. It was not done as a theatrical release, but it did bring Spielberg to the attention of many big names in the film industry.

Something's gone wrong with the treatment if you can't see the grain. Just watched the blu-ray and it was awesome. With the grain.
sharelol, grain comes from the film. If you take it away you take away the details as well. Good HD restorations include the grain, if it isn't there then you know you're missing detail and the transfer is *beep*
shareLow Budget CLASSICS Should not be remade
shareIMO is not necessary a remake!
Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.
1. The Car should be a 1959 Buick Electra, the most evil-looking car of all time.
2. There should be some build up of suspense before the Car goes on a murderous rampage (i.e. the Car is brought into a family's home unsuspectingly and kills undetected for a while).
3. The Car should only kill at night.
4. There should be more gore.
5. The Car should have a horn that's more car-like and less truck-like.
If they made a remake today, the car would become a modern one and the problem there is that it would become a supercar. Most likely car in that area that has an evil loking front is the Zenvo.
Big evil looking eyes and mouth that looks like its ready to eat you alive.

The remake should be set in Hollywood, where The Car roams the hills looking to run over producers, studio execs, and writers that remake movies. The Car itself should be a 2002 Pontiac Aztek, widened on both sides and lengthened and restyled in the back to look like a 1975 AMC Pacer.
After the car kills most of the people that remake classic TV, movies, and comic book heroes, Hollywood is forced to contact an indy-prod director to make an original movie in the vain hope it will stop the carnage. The Car drives to the movie set, and upon seeing a movie with some originality and creativity, and a director that is passionate about making movies, self-combusts in flames, reducing The Car to a smoldering heap of melted steel and plastic.
THE END.
Yes stepstone.
It is now released on DVD and digital download through Amazon.com
It has received good reviews so far for the most and is doing well at film festivals/events we are able to attend.
IMO, I don't think a remake would be necessary. However...I would LOVE to do a movie called "The Truck VS. The Car". Needless to say I'm quite certain a big time movie company wouldn't want to combine their cult classic film with my low budget indy film like that or even work with me on it.
Nonetheless, I'd love to do it.

you can't outrun it
you can't outdrive it
you cannot stop...The Truck.
There is a movie called The Car scheduled to be made in 2014 according to IMDb. Dunno if its a remake of this one.
