The intelligence officer called "Fuller"

What happened to the intelligence officer who revealed that a Panzer division was based in Arnhem? In the film, he shows the reconnaissance photos to General Browning but is shut down as the operation is totally geared up to go. The photos are an inconvenience, especially as General Montgomery has the green light from General Eisenhower. The Dutch Underground were also ignored because, Browning was so gung ho.

It would be hard not to be bitter and angry knowing that Operation Market was a disaster that could have been avoided.

The YouTube channel “History Buffs” does a show on how much of the movie is based on real history. https://youtu.be/PjbEdZyEiMA

At about the 11:30 mark they discuss the fictional character Major Fuller who was based on the real-life Brian Edward Urquhart. They explain what happened to Urquhart after Market Garden. He has a Wikipedia page too. All of it is based on Ryan’s book about Market Garden. Essentially it sounds like Urquhart was publicly vindicated but lost so much confidence in the Airborne unit leadership that he transferred out
