Ripley is completely bonkers in this one

Very impressive acting by D. Hopper.
His Ripley is quite different from Delon's but made such an interesting character. There's the psycho element but a certain tenderness as well.

Brilliant film.

Loved it! It took me a couple times of watching and trying to relate the film to the books. Eventually, I realized Dennis Hopper hit it right on the head--this is what Tom Ripley could have been like 15-20 years down the road from killing Dickie Greenleaf. He still wants his mansion, but it's furnishings are eclectic. He's still worried about the neighbors (didn't want to shoot the gun off), but he's wearing a cowboy hat and overalls. He's trying to figure himself out and is still confused.
