Was Jennings Lang A Thunderbirds Fan?

I saw this film on AMC recently, and was struck by the plot's resemblence to "Operation Crashdive" in Thunderbirds, as well as the "Trapped In The Sky" influence in Airport 1975.

I think the reviewers who slammed these films as unintentionally funny saw Airplane! too many times - Airport '77 is actually a pretty good film; the cast pull it off; I especially liked the interplay of Jack Lemmon (with an annoying mustache) and US Navy divers working to get the plane off the shallow sea floor.

Just one question of logic. In the film, just before the plane is raised, it is stated that the plane is tail heavy and should come up at a steep angle (nose first). If the forward cargo hold flooded and pulled the plane to the seabed in the first place (nose first) ... how can it possibly be tail heavy?

I know your comment is from 21 years ago...but being on the ocean floor in a airplane is just terrifying.

And also not possible.
