I didn't get some episodes writing like Love Barge

Why were Chrissy and Janet wanting to go with Jack to the cruise? They knew it was going to be only one of them. Jack knows they will end up fighting, but he does it anyway. This is for the sake of comedy. It didn't make sense.

So far nobody explained the Chrissy's Cousin episode. Where was Bill going to sleep if he was chosen. I thought they had a rule that the roommates couldn't fool around with each other. If Jack's girlfriend was chosen then she's go to Jack's bed some nights?

AND how the hell did Bill and Jack's girlfriend suddenly want to live together without knowing each other. Also Jack and Janet are fighting with each other about who gets to live there, then Cindy is like ...hey a rent sign...then they both are like 'hey hey hey what are we waiting for and leave holding hand' what the hell ? lol

reply

Plus on the cruise the girl Jack brings along will be in the cabin WITH Jack! So either Janet or Chrissy were willing to sleep with Jack?? LOL

Jesus NEVER existed! He is Judeo Christian MYTH!

reply

oh yeah that's true. Didn't think about sleeping in the same cabin with jack!

reply

So I wonder how did Lana manage to escape Furley? Imagine when she found out she'd be sharing a bed with Furley.

reply

That was a dirty trick though they played on her.

"The Fast" had to be the most ridiculous one out of Sitcom 101.

Who'll win the bet -- will Chrissy be able to stop eating or will Jack be able to stop fooling around? Wait a minute... there's a disparity there somewhere. One is important to survival and the other... isn't. Basically, at the end of three days, Chrissy will be a physical wreck from malnutrition and Jack will have the best orgasm he's had in his life.

Let's not forget that suddenly no one has to work or anything, so Chrissy could eat way out of Jack or Janet's eyeline, or Jack suddenly isn't allowed to leave the apartment, or Grace is utterly oblivious to all the weird stuff going on until her final punchline.

"The Bake Off" was nothing more than an excuse for a lame pie fight at the end. In this episode, Chrissy apparently goes into the kitchen for all of fifteen seconds. During that time she made a bee line for the refrigerator, took out the pie she didn't even know was there, grabbed a fork, and immediately started eating it. You know, when you're an adult, you're taught a modicum of self-control. Let's not even get into the ridiculousness of finding an identical pie at the local pie shop, which Mrs. Roper manages to pick out despite not having seen the original pie in the first place. And yeah, Chrissy eating the entire pie to "get rid of it" was funny, but seriously... the cupboard. Below the sink. Hell, out the window.

I know it's "just a sitcom," but man, they're not all as insanely illogical as these two.

reply

Both of those episodes are dumb. I especially hated the Bake Off, pie fight scenes are so stupid.

This is the episode where Suzanne took Chrissy to the next level of dumbness/absurd. The very moment was the goofy look on her face when Jack walked into the kitchen after she finished eating his pie. After this, there was no turning back.

I think The Fast was to see who was going to break the bet the fastest. Janet thought it would be Jack. It would have been if janet didn't call Jack a jelly fish lol Anyway it went longer than it should have. Even Mrs. Roper asked WTH? Chrissy said "If i die from starvation, then I win" ...few funny lines but the story kinda silly.

The bake off was one of the most famous ones, because of Suzanne Somers face. One of the producers or directors said they framed the pic of her making that goofy face after she ate the pie.

Also Chris Mann talks about it on the DVD how Audra Lindley couldn't stop laughing and had the most fun. so it was great to see her laugh for reals.

a lot of episodes on my other top I started was 'the worse episodes' didn't know most people agreed the "navy pal' or whatever it was. I really hated lee my brother. Not sure why that was an awful episode for me.

Thank you KPETNews. That's got to be one of the funniest posts I've ever read.

Yeah I remember that episode thinking "You mean she's just gonna scarf the whole thing down in record time???"

Well, I guess that's one way to "get rid of it"! But hey, when a pie tastes that good, what else can you do? You know that if she puts it in the cupboard, below the sink, or hell, out the window, she's just gonna have to go fetch it to eat it later anyway, and then she'd have to share it--She might as well just go ahead and finish the whole thing now. You can't blame her for that!

And she was really committed too--Wasn't she? Once she started mowing it down, there was no stopping her. That one bite was HUGE!!!

reply

"The Fast" only makes sense if Chrissy was supposed to stay away from sweets. ALL food is stupid because she'll starve & Jack wins by default!

Jesus NEVER existed! He is Judeo Christian MYTH!

reply

In the end Jack did win but he lost his girl in the process. Seemed like a waste of episode anyways.

reply

I disagree Smoky & Fauna. I thought it was a great episode, and it makes perfect sense...

Grace is only there for the weekend (and obviously "good to go"), so the end of the episode is Jack's last chance to get some.

Sure, Chrissy has got to be absolutely starved by that point, but all she had to do was hold off for 5 more minutes, and Grace would've stormed out the door, and horny Jack would've chased after her and decked the poor woman before she had a chance to get away.

And refresh my memory--Which one of them was so desperate that he was calling for a draw?

Remember--This is Jack that we're talking about here (a walking talking HARD-ON for cryin' out loud). He couldn't keep his pants on if his life depended on it!

Afterthought: I do agree with Fauna that having Chrissy just cut out sweets would have been fairer (although she still would have lost), but I think an even-better change would be having Janet do the fast too. Damnit Janet, if Chrissy can do it, so can you!

reply

I agree about these episodes. But in my opinion I still thought most of The Bake- Off was very funny. It's one of my favorite episodes. Not sure exactly why though.

reply

yeah the Bake Off episode was not making sense, but the writers just tried to make it so they have to have a pie face 'contest' towards the end.

Why would dean travers let jack keep his pie knowing it was not his? That's cheating and what if he gets fired for letting the famous chef's pie be in the contest. It was all to get to the pie fact contest lol It had it's funny moments.
