Harry H Corbett in 'The Moles'

Harry H Corbett is a big favourite of mine, and I always enjoyed TOTU but I cannot remember anything at all about the episode he was in, from series 5. I see that it also starred Fulton Mackay, Joe Gladwin and Bill Owen and was written by Sapphire & Steel creator PJ Hammond. All sounds intriguing and let's hope that Network release season 5 hot on the heels of 4. In the meantime, does anyone remember the plot of this one ?

SPOLIER AHEAD:

Three gentleman plot to rob a bank by digging a tunnel underground from a shop right into the bank. They're getting on in years, so there's a bit of comedy with aches and pains of digging this tunnel and different spats among the gents. When they get finally there, the bank vault is empty. We see a sign on the door that indicates the bank has been closed due to new ordinances or something like that.

Am I anywhere near the imaginary cliff?

That's really good of you...thanks a lot.

Series 5 of TotU is due out from Network in the Uk later this year, so I'll be able to see it then.

Thanks again

What I found amusing was that Harry's characterisation started out as quite distinctive from Harold Steptoe. But as the episode wore on he began to sound more and more like him. Which left me wondering whether Harry just played himself as Harold.

I'm just watching this episode now and was thinking exactly the same thing. In the opening scene I thought "its funny how he is trying to be as different from his portrayal of Harold as he can". Then from the scene where they climb over the wall in the yard he just seamlessly morphs into Harold.

It must be deliberate, there is even what is seemingly a parody of the Steptoe theme used during a scene towards the end of the episode.
