2 Unknown Episdoes - Help!

My mum can remember watching these two things on tv but she can't remember if they are actual episodes of TOTU or not. So any help would be appreciated.

First one is a journalist that is interviewing a prisoner on death row and he gets a stain on his shirt so they give him a spare to wear but when he tries to leave the genuinely think he is a real prisoner. No matter how much he protests he thinks he is just trying what all the prisoners try. He spend his time on death row and his time comes and they still won't believe him. They put him in the chair and put the bag over his head and pull the lever, but it isn't attached. The whole thing was a wind up because he always wondered what it would be like to be on death row, but when they take off the bag he has died of fright.

The next one I can only remember part of it. But it ends up a girl is driving along a road, which seems normal. But in actual fact she is driving towards a quarry and there is a witch in the back seat laughing. We can see the witch and the quarry but the girl can't, as far as she is aware it's normal and she is driving to get away from the witch who has possibly put a curse on her.

I don't even know if these are episodes but it is really annoying me as I don't know what they are.

Please help.

Thanks.

Dang. I wish I had run across this seven years ago. The first one you describe was the premiere episode of "Quinn Martin's Tales of the Unexpected' (no relation to this TOTU - it was a short-lived NBC series in 1977.) It starred Roy Thinnes and was pretty much exactly as you described it.

No luck on the second one, though.

I doubt very much the 2nd is from this series as I've read the plot descriptions for all the episodes a few times and also no episodes ever dealt with anything supernatural. It sounds like something from Monsters or Tales From The Darkside - if you gave an approximate year it'd help as obviously we have no idea how old your mother is or whether she saw them as a child/adult - or if it definitely was a tv series, and whether you're in the US/UK and know whether it was a British or an American series

The second one sounds like Witchcraft from 1964.
