Supernaturalism.

A lot of these kind of anthology shows use supernaturalism quite heavily.
Shows like the Twilight Zone, Tales From The Crypt, Tales From The Darkside, etc.

This one very rarely if ever use supernaturalism at all.
Now there are the odd episode where "weird" things happen like Royal Jelly or the one with the guy that makes a machine that can hear trees and plants, etc. But they all still occur within "reality". No zombies, no vampires, etc.

I feel this "realism" is why many of the stories really work so well and why the show as a whole is regarded as one of the best of it's kind.

And so, God came forth and proclaimed widescreen is the best.
