the dog on the barge in the episode "Second Chance"
Hello, anyone knows the type of dog in the episode "Second Chance" right at the beginning?
All the best, Chris

Just checked out Ep. 5 pt. 2, on the 'net, and looked up Wikipedia's catalogue of dog breeds with photos. I'm not a dog owner or authority, however, consider myself fairly observant, and would hazard a guess that it's a Harrier. Have all three series on DVD, except the unpublished final and "Kessler" sequel. Great TV, and interesting insights by director Viktors Ritelis in the special features bonus. Pity how things went for bargeman Hans in the end.
shareThank you Ojay2. Never heard of the Harrier before :-)

Cheers, Chris. Did you happen to look up those references? Actually, it looks a lot like the species of hound often featured in movies which call for scenes of fox hunts, but smaller. The term is also used for cross-country (human) foot racers, and a type of hawk, after which the RAF named its jet fighter plane. That episode was one of seven directed by Paul Annett. The dramas are so true to life and sometimes pretty grim. One irony is that the Gestapo "secret" police are usually spotted by the protagonists, while a guy like Curtis could con them into thinking he was a fertilizer peddler. All the best, Omar
shareHave since watched the entire available series, and Natalie's uncle Hans appears in a few more eps. with barge, however, the dog is different - looks like a border collie - not the kind of breed that might enjoy being confined to a barge. Still, the 2nd & 3rd series are really most interesting.
