I would have to ask which one do you guys think is better out of the two. I would say SNL but their style is almost to different from Sctv but if you want to evaluate all three that's cool. My vote goes to MP although I love them both dearly. Monty Python was just more outrageous and was a little funnier than SCTV when it came down to it. I love them all though ( even SNL) but if you had to choose which would it be?

all four are unique and cannot really be compared IMHO... but they are all great, KITH pr0lly ebing my fave. MP next, then early SNL (1975-1983 1984 was little weak, 84-85 was good,it was the season they had veteran actors on, 85-86 sucked completely, 87-95 was the best run), SCTV last......... ABFAB, The State, Mr. Show, Viva Variety and the Young Ones are also cool *beep*
shareOne of the most dreadful Canadian comedy sketch series in my opinion is The Royal Air Farce! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I enjoyed it only on radio.
And you know what else is right up there with the best ones? YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON TELEVISION!
i love snl, kids in the hall, and sctv equally. i like monty python but not nearly as much as the first three.

I agree. SNL's focus on the "event of the week" means that it doesn't age well, while SCTV's focus on popular culture makes it endearing. I like Monty Python and Kids in the Hall as well -- but I still gravitate to SCTV.
