I like asking people from out of town, "Did you drove or did you flew?", just to watch their reactions. More often than not, they catch on, but it's pretty amusing when they just stare.
"I want to bear your children!" comes up more often than not, but I can't do the crazed Lola laugh anymore.
I think the Sid Dithers line ("Did you drove or did you flew?") is the only one I've used in real life. But I have uttered "Dohway to Heh" in my best Lin Ye Tang would whenever the that phrase seems appropriate.
"Scary stuff, keeds" is probably the only other phrase I've used.
Whenever I agree with someone, they never (NEVER!) get it when I quote Tex Boyle: "That's right, Edna."
I often quote Count Floyd: "You're gonna be shakin' in your boots." and "Your face muscles are just gonna turn to (thinks of a word)...MARMALADE on this one."
When serving my daughter her pancakes: "Would you like...some syrup. (accompanied by that unspellable music effect) Welcome to Dr. Tongue's 3-D House of Pancakes"
I break into Bobby Bittman now and again: "Hel-lo????"
And even Skip Bittman, when I walk into the middle of a chaotic situation: "Hey, what is this, a heist?"
I laugh like William B. Williams but slap my knee like Sammy M. And whenever I don't want to give my real name, I say I'm Woody Tobias, Jr.
"oh take off ya hoser!" HAHAHA and I'm only 19, so only one of my friends knows what I'm talking about when I say it... that's what's no fun... my generation only knows SNL
I'd start quoting Chuck Clarke from 4th Dergree "keep your nose clean". Also Brock Linehan. Oh and a few years back I would call my buddy cowhead(from the Great White North LP).
Viva Eduardo! Swingit44 IMDB's most overlooked poster, giving you true post since 2001
My parents would always say to eachother "Right Tex?" "Right Edna" and i never realized what it was from until they bought the DVDs about a year ago and we all watched them. So yes, my parents used lines from the show a lot.
When th McKenzies are washing LaRue's car he says something like, "And get the chrome, not like last time." always cracked me up. use it all the time for different stuff.
And the McKenzies trying to get in to see the singer. bouncer: " you vouch for him?" doug: " will I what?"
Count Floyd's "Veerrry Scaaaary" has always popped out of my mouth. And we did all go through the Hoser phase. My son sneaks up on me and shouts "How Are Ya" in true Bittman-esque fashion. But my favorite line is "Oh Merv, Otis has gone and got Opie Drunk!" Love Catherine O'hara!!
I'm not trying to be annoying...it just always works out that way.
Those are wicked cool people on this board don't you think? You all are sharp as a whip and good with quotes! Does anybody ever spontaneously burst into "To It And At It" by Stompin' Tom I wonder?
I SURE DO! "...there's a rainbow in Toronto where the maritimers are bold, they always get a pot full, but they never get a pot of gold" and SCTV is where I learned it from!
I used to say "may the good lord take a likin' to you and blow you up real soon".. but really I must admit I am much more ready with quotes from "Follow That Bird" featuring many of the same stars.
