My list is pretty much the same, although I'd put Lola up higher. Seeing Catherine in that character was what hooked me onto the show. She was just SO SPECIAL IT'S SCARY!

shareMy favorite character is Jackie Rogers Jr. My favorite skit is Swingin' with Mother Nature with his dad. I adore each and every cast member and think they are all geniuses, but for some reason that skit stands out as the funniest thing they ever did. And I can't believe what a nut Short was to really be up in that tree. Granted he was tied, but when he goes to fall he really GOES to fall.

Juul Haalmeyer was great...I didn't realize til recently Martin Short was a dancer early on in Lola's Christmas special! (with Juul as her new lover). The fingers pointing to the floor is quite a dance move. My hats off to all those nameless guys.
Yeah that was Marty! I didn't realize it either, until I watched the DVD w/ commentary on and Cath pointed him out. Lola's Christmas Special was the best. "Bah lovebug?" "You know what I mean!"

Ha ha! No, but the egg thing reminded me how we would crack Easter eggs with someone to see which one wouldn't break, until everyone had a turn. How thrilling to be the one with the strongest egg! lol

1. Guy Cabellero - just the epitomy of sleaze, and yet you grew to like him
2. Edith Prickley - the sober yin to Cabellero's raging yang, and vice-versa
3. Lola Heatherton (and the Hallmeyer dancers)- if only for "Bouncing Back to You"
4. Johnny LaRue - I loved how he'd do something so over the top...taught me to really appreciate a good crane shot
5. Bill Needle - I just loved watching him blow up, and get his comeuppance with the inevitable failure
6. Big Jim McBob & Billy Sol Hurock - speaking of "blowing up"...
7. The gang at Pre-Teen World - great how they'd be just so earnest. "De-cent!"

yes, I agree with you about Moe Greene - "Dialing For Dollars" was one of the funniest roles he played - I would love to see those early 30-minute episodes from 1976-1979 put out on DVD! Does anyone know if Shout! Factory or any other distribution company has plans for this?
