The 'N' Word.

Does anyone have the number of times the "N" word is used and if this broke records for the most uses of the word???

It WOULD be interesting to know.

Here's to those who wish me well...

Dang, it was just shown on Bet yesterday. Surprised no one has counted. From what I understand only blacks are allowed to say it and only to each other.

That statement is beyond ridiculous. 'Allowed' by whom exactly? Who is doing this 'allowing'. What authority grants some permission to use the word *beep* and denies some?

reply

Well, blacks seem to think they can. Seems like it's every other word they say now, but God forbid anyone else use it.

doubt it broke records...

it Was the 1970s...

You kind of have to remember the evolution of the 'appropriate terminology', at various stages
-- Ni--er (not sure what if any 'censors' are in place)
-- Ne-ro
-- Colored
-- African American
-- Black

were all considered 'appropriate'

anything before the 1980s had a lot more freedom to us it... Mel Brooks dropped it liberally in Blazing Saddles... and one assumes plenty of 'black movies' still have the 'freedom' to use it today
