Did they really cast this optmially? Nothing against the actors and actresses. Most of them are very good, especially the interactions between Leslie Uggams and Sandy Duncan. However, Kizzy (Uggams) is supposed to be Chicken George's (Ben Vereen) mother, but Uggams was born in 1943, and Ben Vereen was born in 1946. That makes her 3 years older than Vereen. You really can't be a mother at age 3. And Chicken George was supposed to be 18 or so when first introduced, but Ben Vereen was 30 years old at the time.
