Man Without a Past

shareEver wonder about the relationship between Arthur and Peter? There's something there....
shareDefinitely. The way Arthur leans on him before they try to kill Doyle says it all.
This is not the only episode to hint at a gay relationship between two villains. In Spy Probe, you couldn't help, but wonder about Ferris and Twig who seemed quite camp.
Oh yes, I noticed that a bit as well. I found those two highly amusing
-SPOILERS-
But really, it's nothing when compared to Peter screaming "Arthur!" across the parking lot.
They tried to make into a whole "Peter is really a bad guy who's going to kill Arthur later on," but you know-you KNOW he's not going to actually do it. John Castle's acting at that moment was amazing.
As was the guy who played Mr. Forest, he gives them this little calculated look.
Sorry, its just that when I first saw this episode I just kept wondering, "am I seriously the only one who sees this!?" And since I don't personally know anybody who watches The Professionals, it just silently drove me crazy.
Well, you're definitely not the only one to think that. It is obvious Peter was very close to Arthur and not in a platonic sort of way, either.
One hint I got of there being a gay relationship between Ferris and Twig in Spy Probe was one calling the other 'Twiggy' which sounds like a girl's name (it was the name of a model).
In The Public Interest was the only ever episode to show gay people as being normal, even if they were the victims in this one, and in series one's Everest Was Also Conquered, there was a female couple, one of whom gets gunned down (the ex-policewoman).
Having recently seen this episode on ITV4, which, I know, shows edited episodes, one important plot point seems to have been cut. How does CI5 link Arthur Pendle to the bomb?
shareThere's a scene (just before Bodie visits Forrest's home for the first time) where a waiter from Gino's restaurant is apparently browsing through a book of mugshots in an interrogation room. A police inspector then comes in and tells Cowley: "Name of Arthur Brian Pendle. Picked up for drug dealing and illegal possession of firearms. Sent down for three years."
