Why the format change?
Does anybody know why the producers radically changed the format of "Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries" for the second season?
"Nancy Drew" in particular was all but gutted, even before Pamela Sue Martin left the series. Doesn't make much sense, especially since the format seemed to work so well during the first year.
Regardless, losing Pamela Sue Martin was a huge blow. I liked seeing the three of them solve mysteries together, but I never can understand why TV producers try to fix something that isn't broken.
I also contend that the Pamela Sue Martin "Nancy Drew Mysteries" was better even than the "Hardy Boys."
