what are the chances of Hardy Boys season 3 coming to DVD?

After a huge gap of time of not releasing season two of the hardy boys/nancy drew mysteries because apparently the sales of the first season were low, the second season was basically released to coincide with the release of the Nancy Drew movie (which flopped). I'm guessing that a 10 episode season of the hardy boys alone won't be on a priority list for the studio, but we can only hope that is not the case. I'm dying to see the two parter episode in which Joe's girl dies and the play "If" by Bread.

Maybe they'll release it when Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller's movie "The Hardy Men" comes out. That is if they dare to be associated with what will probably be a piece of crap movie.

heh heh. That's been my hope--and the only reason I'm 'anticipating' the release of that movie.

I think the only chance of seeing the third season on DVD will be if they release it when the movie is out. It worked for Starsky & Hutch. Why not Frank & Joe?

That's why I know that song! It's on the new Donny Osmond CD. I don't think DVDs are advertised well. Some are priced too high.

Yeah, it was my first exposure to the song when I was a kid. It was featured strongly in the episode.

Yeah, it was kind of obvious they only released season 2 because of the Nancy Drew movie. If you look at the artwork- Nancy Drew's picture is larger than the Hardy Boys, and her name appears larger than their's, even though Drew was basically just a guest star that season.

Okay, I saw this website that showed all the season DVD's and their release dates. They show Season 3, but next to it (where the release date should be) is TBA. Anyone know what that means?

I don't know if this would make any difference, but at Amazon.com you can add your name to their e-mail list to be notified when season 3 is released. Just look up season 3, and the link to do so is on the right hand side of the page. If people show interest, who knows? It certainly can't hurt.

I'd certainly love to see Season 3 released. The first two seasons are great fun, and it's a shame that the last season is still MIA. Come on Universal!!!

It will happen at some point. They should have released the third season when the Nancy Drew movie came out on DVD. By the way, Nancy Drew did not bomb at the box office. It did ok. It made 25 million in the states and it took 20 million to make. That's not counting what it did overseas and what it made on DVD.

I sent Universal a request to release Season 3 on DVD. I even suggested they release it via the MOD method (Made on Demand). That way, the hard-core fans could get Season 3 and the studio is not investing too much money. If anyone else wants to write in their request, please do so.

as much as I want it, I'm not willing to pay for a full priced DVD and only get DVD-Rs. I personally don't think it's a business practice consumers should be endorsing.

I just sent an email to Shout Factory basically BEGGING them to release the final season. They're putting out the remainder of the Fantasy Island series after much begging from fans.
They may be willing to put out the final season of The Hardy Boys as well.
