has anyone heard the rumour there revamping grange hill and makin it for 8-12 year olds and there axing all the older charectors!!!

Hmmm...Well, it was originally aimed at 10- to 14-year olds back in the late '70s/early '80s, or at least it was when rebroadcasted here in Canada....

It's now aimed at 6-12 year olds *sigh* , which is why Phil Redmond wants to axe it.
Yes, as if there aren't already enough programmes aimed at that age group, and endlessly repeated within the CBBC schedules. There could easily be a half-hour slot for the likes of Grange Hill as it was within a weekly schedule, and then if they want a spin off "Grange Hill Juniors", for instance, then fine.
