We need to start a petition to get Series 5 onwards released on DVD.....

I was thrilled to bit when Grange Hill seasons 1-4 were released on DVD. But was very disappointed when it apppeared that there are no plans to release Series 5 onwards! Series 5,6, and 7 in particular was Grange Hill at its very best! These were the Gripper, Roland, and Zammo years. And its a travesty that these wont be released on DVD!

We need to start a petition to the BBC to get these released. Can anyone construct a good letter expressing our interest in series 5 onwards? it can be posted on http://www.petitiononline.com hopefully we can get a lot of signatures, and we then inform the BBC(or whatever company it is) to read the petition.

i'll definitely sign it

They probably feel the later years won't sell as well...

Well lets at least get a petition started and see how it goes. We just need someone to come up to compose a good letter. Which I'm not very good at.

I really want to watch series 5-7 again. But it's impossible. No official DVD's released, not even any bootleg copies to be found anywhere.

I hope they do decide to - I have thought about contacting Network DVD they release a lot of rare/unusual stuff from the 70's and 80's. Maybe BBC could licence it out to them???
I would only want to buy up to Series 10 though - 4-10 was "my era"

I dont understand why the whole series isnt on DVD. Is it all to do with politics with Phil Redmond? Its not even shown a satellite channel. WHy no access to this legendary show?
Id defintly buy up to at least Series 12. (Maybe even 13 and 14 but only watch the 6 former scenes!)

I agree Wonderwall, a petition would e excellent to have Grange Hill on DVD for the Series you ahve mentioned! Though personaly i'd rather see a petitioon to have Grange Hill back as a programe on TV picked up by another TV Station!

Sadly the first 2 series dvds didn't sell great

One huge problem is the music rights

In the dvds releases they changed and even removed scenes containing music. Any innocent scene with music playing in the background on the radio etc is affected

I remember the dvds not having the scene with the girls dancing in the changing rooms to Boney M's Daddy cool

And judging from the recent GH charity reunion which was successful but far from packed, i would say there are a lot and i mean a lot of people who remember Grange Hill fondly from their childhood, but not that many true fans who will buys dvds etc
