I've just started watching the DVDs and I'm on season 3 now.
I can see now why I had a crush on Penny Lewis at the time - a really snotty red head but cute too :-)
I hope season 5 onwards gets released too!

She seems to still have quite a following - her autographed photos go for £30+ on eBay, much more than anyone else.

I always liked Penny Lewis too. She was one of my favourites. An underated chharacter who doesnt seem to be remembered as much as a lot of the others.

most of the vintage grange hill cast signed photos go for good money i have sold a few of my spares over the years nina fry 35 pounds tina mahon 32 ruth carraway 35 lisa york 36 so that seems to be about the average

It's still Lucinda Duckett (Ann Wilson) for me (http://www.facebook.com/people/Lucinda-Duckett/595791797); there are no actresses playing characters like that on youth-oriented television today. But, yes, Ruth Davies as Penny Lewis was very nice and attractive as well. Who played little problematic Judy Preston, by the way...?

Yeah Penny Lewis was definitely my favourite female of the first 3 or 4 years - she was a brainy nerdy teacher's pet, but she was also feisty and not scared to stand up for herself. Much more of a character than Cathy or Susi....yet like someone said above, she's not remembered. Shame.

Abigail Brown played Judy Preston. She changed her name to Abigail Arundel in series 2.

Isn't it also Ruth that played an injured teen, who was pregnant by her teacher, in an episode of Casualty.
