Well there was a petition (link)doing the rounds on Yahoo Answers last Summer, if you can get anyone else interested may-be SF-Topics.

I think it's best to let it go. Those who wish for it to return, would love it to be like when it started, right up to (possibly 1990) - it went downhill after that.

What conrad5000 said. Those of use who watched the show avidly during the Tucker-Zammo-Gonch years, and saw it sporadically afterwards (although I have to admit I don't think I've seen a single episode from 1994 or so onwards) would like to remember GH as what it was, one of the greatest kids shows ever and streets ahead of a good many 'grown-up' dramas. It had to end one day, and it had long had it's day.

I agree with the last couple of posts.

I remember the Zammo/Gonch era as a kid. I also remember the early 90s with Justine, Maria and Richard.

I've just recently gone back and watched all the old series on Youtube from 1978 and I'm currently on the last part of the 1994 series.

While I don't think it should come back - the last series showed how poor it had become - I do think they should be repeated.
GH is part of British heritage and if E4 can show endless repeat viewings of the inane US drivel that is Friends seemingly every time I switch to that channel then I don't see why BBC can re-run GH.
Actually with digital tv being what it is I'd love to see a channel on BBC devoted to old programmes, maybe BBC Retro or something?

Also I'm currently showing my 9 year old daughter old episodes and she is constantly amazed at the attitudes of the kids and teachers, not to mention the fact that schoolchildren could happily buy Coke and sweets from the school canteen as well as having salt, pepper, ketchup and vinegar on the dinner tables!

Phil Redmond the creator of the series called time on this.

Maybe Waterloo Road covered similar ground.

Its that man again!!
