I know this is probably old news and certainly gossip, but I do still believe in happy endings.......
I was still living in England (left in 1988) when this series had finished (I believe). The word was that Christopher Timothy and Carol Drinkwater were a couple. He having left his wife and several children - is what I seem to remember.
I have just looked at the biography of Carole only to discover not a mention of Mr. Timothy.
After what must have been a dreadful decision to make to leave his family, I hoped they would have made a 'good go' of it.
As far as I know, Christopher had left his wife and family before he got involved with Carol . Why it didn´t last longer, I have no idea, but I´ve read somewhere that on Carol´s part there was also another relationship with actor Peter Firth that had been on and off for a very long time. But I don´t know, if it had any influence on Carols relationship with Christopher or how serious this one was in the first place... A short time after they had split up and after she had set an end to her relationship with Peter Firth, she met her future-husband while shooting a mini-series in Australia.
Christopher and Carol made a great couple as James and Helen in "All creatures great and small", but you can never know how they feel and behave in real-life.
"You shouldn't keep souvenirs of a killing. You shouldn't have been that sentimental."
Thats too bad that their good chemistry on screen had problems behind it.....but any way, what episode had the story "The Momentous Birth" in it, where, before they are married, James and Helen go on a trip together to help a little pregnant dog deliver her puppies. It's very romantic. But I am confused where it would appear in the show.
edit: ok got a reply! Thanks!
And never forget today, that you are from...Old...Virginia!!!
