Series on DVD!!!!
Apparently there are 90 episodes of this great programme.
Why then are there only 26 episodes on dvd for buying?
Come on playback, get releasing.

From what I understand here in the Netherlands; we have here series 1-4. 5 is being made for dvd right now. Takes another 7-10 months till we can get it here.
They just take their time to get it on dvd. Be patient!!
Series 1 through 5 can be found in DVD on Ebay. Series six can be obtained from Amazon.com - it will be available in July.
shareSeries 3 has just been released in the UK, you can get it at amazon priced at £16.89. You can also get series 1-6 on ebay, but they are from The Netherlands with Dutch writing on the covers.
shareYou can buy All Creatures Great And Small - Series 1-7 / Christmas Specials [DVD] from Amazon UK

If you live in the U.S., all 7 series are available at Netflix on DVDs and, if you have a compatible device (Roku box, Wii, etc.), you can stream every episode of the 7 series directly to your TV. (The 2 "special episodes" filmed in 1983 and 1985 are only available on DVD.) Speaking from experience, instant streaming is fantastic. (I have a Roku box and a Netgear 824n router.)
shareMaybe this is a stupid question, but...
Do these DVDs have subtitles?
Can somebody who owns this DVD-box confirm it?
All 7 Series and the 2 holiday specials were released on DVD between 2002 and 2006. They were released as a complete mega set in the summer of 2007 and then reissued in a newer fangled box in the winter of 2008 and again last year. I have the first of these mega sets, got it at a Best Buy price matching their website price and using one of those occasional 10% coupons that come in the mail. Picked it up at the store a block from my office the month after my birthday in 2008. Saved $100 off the stickered price with my coupon and the price match (especially since it was "not there"). All 28 discs are closed captioned for the hearing impaired, but no subbies. Remember you can open captions with your tv remote as opposed to subbies with your player's remote.
Update: I saw the original poster said "playback" which is the British "Universal" affiliate. You guys also have a complete mega set on 33 discs. I believe THAT set does have subbies.
