This is what Television promised but never lived up to.

I read some of Harriot's books in the early 80's and did view a few episodes of the show on PBS but my life was too full then to sit in front of the TV screen. I've since slowed down a bit and have been watching this series over Netflix streaming starting about 1 month ago, and what a pleasure it is.

I grew up in a rural area, and I am quite familiar with farming/ranching life and what large animal vets have to go through; it is so very real. The actors all seem quite natural and it feels like I am a part of the story each time I watch an episode. Cheers to the BBC for creating what television first promised but has rarely lived up to.

Well said. I never tire of watching this series. It made me want to be a part of the family at Skelsdale House. Innocent, warm, funny and soothing. And, in fact, I've watched it so many times now I almost feel like a member of the family!

I read an article about the return of All Creatures ten years after it first aired. Someone was asking about changing the series to keep up with the times (more sex or foul language possibly?) and was told that "the people don't want it to be changed, they want it exactly as it used to be." Hear, hear!
