What type of cars did James and Sigfried drive in the TV series?

I was wondering what the makes and models of the cars that James and Sigfried drove through the series... specifically in series one. The three cars I am talking about is James first car (the blue Austin), Sigfried's black car, and then Sigfried's new Rover. Does anyone have any specific information about these automobiles that are in the series?

In the later series, Sigfried is driving a Rover 75 (the black one) a seriously posh car in the early 50's, with a 2.3 straight six engine, leather interior and wooden dash.
I have no idea what James is driving, I am not good at recognising pre-war trundlers.
