This is probably in the forum somewhere, but I didn't see it. We bought the complete set and have been enjoying it immensely. I also enjoy other British shows like Inspector Lewis, Cracker, and Prime Suspect. I'm saving up for Inspector Morse. Are there any other shows you think we might enjoy? I enjoy most the British shows but hubby likes the humour of of ACGAS.

There is a series called Heartbeat, which is set in Yorkshire in the 60s, which he might like. It ran for a long time, so if he does like it, there are lots of episodes to watch.

The darling Buds of May is another one he might like. Set in Kent in the 50s, it is quite fun and has a lot of humour.

If you enjoy murder mysteries, Mudsomer Murders is one you might like. set in the fictional county of Midsomer, it is more lughthearted than most British murder mysteries, and has some very beautiful locations.

A few series that I think are similar to All Creatures Great and Small are the following.

Doctor Finlay (1993)
The Indian Doctor (2010 onwards)
Born and Bred (2002-2005)

Some other British series I'd recommend.

Between the Lines (1992-1994)
The Jewel in the Crown (1984)
The House of Eliott (1991-1994)
House of Cards (1990, 1993 and 1995)
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (1979) and Smileys People(1982)
Colditz (1972)
Enemy at the Door(1978)
Bleak House (1985 and 2005)
Inspector George Gently (2007 onwards)

Enjoy!

Go to bed Frank or this is going to get ugly .

Foyle's War is a very well done period (WW2) series, plus it has Michael Kitchen who is always a pleasure to watch.

Piece of Cake is another period piece, again WW2, but is an interesting series unless you require all main characters to survive (not all do.) Although it is about a military squadron, it's more about the individuals than the combat.

New Tricks is a contemporary police - I won't say drama because what it shares with All Creatures is the lives, including humor and quirks, of the main characters - the cases are interesting, but sometimes almost seem secondary.

Endeavour - I haven't seen enough of this series to get hooked yet, but it is Inspector Morse as a young man and seems to respect the original series, showing us his development as a detective (since you already like Inspector Morse.)

I'm not sure anything compares to All Creatures, but there are so many others that are enjoyable in their own right. Then there is the 1975 movie version of All Creatures, with Anthony Hopkins as Siegfried.
