Did this ever get shown on TV?

Until I was able to watch the Dark Sky DVD release, I thought I'd never seen this movie before. But, beginning with the scene involving the siege on the jail cell, the movie began to look very familiar, as if I'd seen this portion of the film years ago (I'm talking mid- to late-'80s) on cable TV. Not HBO or Cinemax, but more like WGN or some local channel's late-night horror show...

...or was this just a case of baseless deja vu on my part? I'd swear I saw the last twenty minutes of this on television years ago. Anyone else out there recall this being shown, albeit in a heavily-edited version, on cable TV in the '80s?

I suspect that for the duration that AIP had the U.S. rights, they likely offered the film in TV syndication packages, so chances are indeed good you saw it on a late-night broadcast. It likely did not play pay cable since many AIP films were tied up in syndication deals until the '90's, when Orion and then MGM inherited the library, and in the case of this movie, their U.S. rights expired.

I'm not sure. But any channel that would play this on TV would automatically be a favorite channel of mine by default. If it was to be played nowadays, I think TCM would be the most likely.
