Bobby's Coworkers and the Fight Attempts

Maybe it's just me but after seeing it again this question came to mind.

Throughout the movie Bobby's three coworkers are tracking him down and trying to kick his ass in retaliation for the laxative laced beer incident earlier in the movie. Did anyone else think to themselves why didn't they just wait for him to return to work and then kick his ass three shades of purple?

Apparently they couldn't take a joke as good as Bobby did after they ran his convertible through the wash.

Well it's not list as a tag line at IMDb but in NYC that summer we heard:

"The Van....." "It'll blow yur doors off!" on all the hip feeds.

Implication, this was to be a kick ass movie.
