Maybe the Phantom Killer and the Zodiac killer...
...were the same person. Just sayin'.
shareI bet they were, the way they killed as very identical, and they both never got caught so they were obviously stealthy mofos. I've always thought that they were 1 in the same.
shareIf he was the Zodiac, he would have been, like, 60 years old by the end of those murders. I mean, by the rough estimate of the age of the phantom killer.

More like 50 Years old. If Youell Swinney was also the Zodiac Killer he would have been 50 years old when the Zodiac Killings ended. Youell Swinney lived to be around 75 years old. He died in a Dallas Texas Nursing Home, in 1994.

They were not the same person.
If you do it right the first time, you might only have to go back to fix it once or twice.
Well, if you believe Dennis Kaufman, his stepfather, Jack Tarrance was both.
He was also, the Black Dahlia killer, Lipstick killer, ect.
At least what I can gather from his MB,DK, and his followers are trying to link all of these killers/killings to the same person, which would be his stepfather.
I have always tried to be openminded when it came to the Zodiac. I even purchased Dennis' book. After reading the book, I wasn't convinced that JT was Z, but I did have the feeling that he was probably a dangerous person.
All I can say to Dennis is, adding all of these other murders is just making your case look less credible, IMHO, (worse than Tom Voigt)...and that's saying alot!
I don't believe that the "Moonlight Murder" was the Zodiac Killer. The first Zodiac attack and murder was on December 20, 1968. At the time, Youell Swinney was in prison serving a life sentence. However, he was released from prison in 1973 following a habeas corpus proceeding which found that a prior conviction in 1941 used for sentence enhancement purposes was void because Swinney had not been represented by counsel.
shareTrue and are a very valid point. However Youell Swinney was Never Proven to be the Phantom Killer or Moonlight Murderer as it were. He was the top suspect, but was never found guilty of the crimes. His imprisonment was based on his being a Habitual Criminal. The Life sentence was because this was his third strike. That is the only charge they could get to stick. Because his girl-friend was the only eye witness to the account of what she told the police, of her boyfriend Youell Swinney being the Phantom Killer. And he married her before the trial. Meaning by state law a Wife could not be forced to testify against her own husband. However not enough physical evidence was found to convict Youell Swinney of being the Phantom Killer. You are right about his release in 1973 due to him not being represented by an attorney in the first trial. However because of this, we will never know if the Phantom Killer and the Zodiac Killer were one in the same. It is possible however that both killings were one in the same person. But again no one can prove that either. Personally I think after studying the Phantom Killer case for years now, that The Phantom Killer was a police officer.A police officer could easily dodge capture and could allways stay a step ahead much like the Phantom ,because he would know the stake out locations of the other Lawmen and the Texas Rangers.

good theory.
Wouldn't the other cops notice one of their own missing? If he was wounded wouldn't they notice someone limping or acting like the were hurt?
