Any on-location spots left?

I'll be traveling through Georgia this summer, and I was wondering, are there any familiar locations around there from this movie? Like that old yellow house the Saunder's lived in or the diner where Mick ordered the egg cream?

They probably still exist in the rural parts of Georgia. Don't forget to shape your hair into waves when you get down there. Be careful not to catch a case of Southern Belle-ness.

The name of the town the movie was shot in is Port Wentworth, about a half hour out of Savannah. The bar didn't exist even back then because it was converted from a beauty parlor for the film. But Casa Roma, the house, the jail, and the egg cream scene place were all real, but could be that none of them exist today-- or maybe they do!

Thanks tenfour!

I was traveling through Savannah last June (05), but didnt see your post before then, unfortunately.

I hope to go back down that way next year. I will definately look for some of those places, although the way things change these days, I would be surprised to find anything recognizable.

I love that scene at the very beginning where Mick, loaded down with all kinds of paraphernalia, gets let off in the swamp by the bus driver and he asks him if there's a bathroom around there! That's real New York humor.

Thanks Steve!

I take it the "egg-cream" diner is no longer in business though. Most of those types of places were gone by the 90's.
