I'm afraid to watch this... :(

I saw this recommended on a website as one of the top 5 creepy crawly type horror films. However, I was imagining something along the lines of Arachnophobia, but just from looking at the poster on the IMDB page and a couple pictures, I'm afraid to watch this.

It's reminding me too much of The Ruins, where the vines were underneath their skin and I can never watch that film without looking away, only in this case it's fuqin' worms! That type of stuff I can't handle, it's terrifying to me lol. But i'm thinking since this was done so long ago that it can't be so bad...but I've been wrong before.

Can someone who saw The Ruins and remembers those particular scenes where the vines were inside that girls body, let me know is this movie along those lines? Think i'll be okay watching this??

I have not seen this in a while, but I know for a fact that there is no
scene where a worm crawls under the skin like in The Ruins. The most there
is you can see on one of the images here on IMDB, where there are some
really poor F/X of worms eating a guys face, or rather some worms
are sticking out of his cheeks. trust me though, it looks so fake that
I would have trouble believing that you would be bothered by that,
Only thing would be if you can't stand the sight of literally tens of thousands
of worms together in different scenes. They say that they used like every
worm in the eastern sea board for that year = lots of pissed off fisherman(lol).
the worms are on the ground, coming out of bodies, and dropping from a ceiling.
so if you can stand worms, you are A-OK! (it's actually is a good movie, and
once you see it straight, then fin the DVD, watch it again with the directors
commentary, then also track down the MST3000 version and watch it for the
3rd time, lol. What, think that's nuts?? I did it. (lol))

Haha, okay! Awesome news! Thanks for replying...I think I can give it a shot, good to know I won't relive The Ruins again lol.

You do see worms slithering into someone's face a few times. I thought this was decent for this kind of movie. Disgusting,, yes but in a very comedy kind of way, much better than "Frogs" or "Slugs". I was expecting lots of worms to be just put on the actors but the effects are proper effects, surprised me. I never fancied this but found it a pleasant surprise, if you can accept screaming worms I'd give it a go.

This is the only type of horror movie that does get under my skin. The creepy crawly critters because I got a phobia about them. I never eat pasta or drink milk watching Squirm.

I wouldn't say its not without its moments. My wife walked into the room while I was watching this. At the scene where the worms burrow into the guys face she jumped up and ran out of the room gagging.

Here's a still from probably the creepiest part of the movie, which should answer your question:
