Monument?

What was the monument featured in this film, the one that looked like a smokestack?

I was curious too. When I saw your question I tried to look it up. I found it by putting "Dartmouth Tower" in google images. There is a picture and a description at this page:

Here is a description:

"Slightly inland of the path take a look at the unusual stone 80ft daymark it has stood since 1864 marking the eastern entrance to the Dart."

I suppose a "daymark" is a navigational marker which was not lit for night use. So I put "Dartmouth Daymark" in google images, and lots of pics and descriptions cropped up.

This pic at Flicker: http://www.flickr.com/photos/elliye/3820482434/

Has the caption, "The Daymark was built in 1864 as a Navigational aid for ships entering Dartmouth. It is 25 meters high and owned by the Dart Harbour Commission."

Interesting structure. I thought it might be the ruins of an ancient warning/observation tower. Proto.

Thanks so much for those links! I was wondering about the tower also. Both the interior and exterior shots of this film are very impressive – along with the story, of course.
