The Mafia Connection

I havent read all of the threads so I cant say this hasnt been discussed, but the first thing that crossed my mind when watching the 'bullies' pin Carradine against the locker after he painted the swastika was "this is just like the mafia"

Neighborhoods where mafia figures live are usually some of the most safest places to live

I remember reading one story ( I think by Sammy the Bull or Henry Hill) where it was early evening, a woman was walking home, and a black man started to follow her.

By the time she reached her building, she opened the door, walked in, and the black man darted in behind her

Just then about 10 italians from the neighborhood rushed inside

A few minutes later, the black man was flying off the top of the roof, and splattered on the ground

that's what this movie is, to me. a reflection of organized crime. the leaders control everything. the only crimes committed are the ones they commit themselves

you eliminate them, and a new crop rises up

actually a great movie
