Great interview, although I think Derrel might have have been a little too hard on his performance. Fans will agree he did very well in a very difficult role, and he's obviously very different from the character he played! Mind if I ask some questions for part two? Others have probably asked them as well!
1. It was neat finding out Mark Hamill was considered for the part of David (which is yet another Eight is Enough connection!); what other name or future name actors were considered for parts in the film?
2. Does Derrel have any memories of filming the classroom fight scene?
3. Although the characters go through fascinating changes, the character of David goes through a particularly intriguing development arc. How did Derrel handle the challenges of the character's evolution, and in dealing with the shifts in the audience's identification and sympathies?
4. The Andy Kauffman story was hilarious! Does Derrel have any other amusing fan stories, and has encountered anyone else in the business who recognizes him from the film?

Cool! I'd love to hear Rene Daalder, of course, but I'd also love to hear Tom Logan join the show as well, to talk about his work as an acting teacher as well as tell more stories about the movie. Harry Keramidas and Burt Van Munster might be long shots, but they could also be interesting guests.
shareI do plan to have Tom, Rene possibly, hard to pin him down, would be great to get Bert and Harry, I have attempted to contact both and will see what will happen, Kim not sure perhaps, Andrew again maybe... do hope to have Eugene Mazzola and others after first of year. We shall see we shall see.
