Great Movie - Thoughts

Why was Andrew always asking people to go to the beach with him? LOL! I laughed everytime. Always wanting to go to the beach and saying what a lovely day it was.

I couldn't help but laugh when Oscar thought he was hot *beep* after the three bullies were dead, I was overjoyed when his locker blew up.

I realise this movie was a B-Grade Slasher, and it shouldn't be taken seriously, but looking at it, I can't help but think where were the teachers? Why was no one around to stop the three bullies from assaulting the crap out of everyone, they almost raped two girls (By the way, I loved Theresa acting like a smart ass while her friends were being raped) Why didn't the girls go to the police? They were almost raped, then just walked home like nothing had happened. Just like all the students did when the Library dude and Oscar died (I don't think alot of people were around for the third dude's death)

Why would the school host an alumni party after four students were murdered on school grounds?

I can't beleive after David murdered eight people Mark still didn't turn him in because he "owed" David... Yeah, Mark... He killed EIGHT People. I say eight because I don't see how on Earth David could have been responsable for the hang gliding incident, it doesn't make any sense.

I loved how all sorts of different losers got together to decide how the school is supposed to be run now, why did anyone have to be a leader? Who's to decide?

I can't beleive after ALL David did, Mark and Theresa still wanted to cover up for him.

I realise this movie isn't meant to make a whole lot of sense. I really enjoyed it. Just wanted to know who else shared my thoughts.

One Question: Did David lose his foot? Or half a leg when the car was dropped on him? I ask becuase in the movie Theresa says "You lost your leg, not your tounge" But I also beleive someone may have mentioned a broken ankle or leg at some point in the movie. I may be wrong.

Michael Scott: What is a Pap smear? Or is it shmear?

It's been too long since I've seen this, so I can't address all of your questions, but in response to your point about the lack of teachers or adults, that was intentional on the part of the director to reflect the world of teenagers, where adults are invisible or meaningless – sort of like how the principal in the "Peanuts" cartoons is just a squawk on the box.

And of course this film isn't mean to be taken seriously – at least not completely – but it has quite a bit to say about the pressures of adolescence and conformity.

Now I get it about David's leg. It must have been amputated and he was walking on an artificial limb. I was wondering how he got back to school so quickly and was mobile. Still a bit of a stretch.

I loved the movie, love, love, love 70s horror. But, I too wondered where the staff was at the school. Only once I think they showed the swim coach or at least we heard a voice saying to get out of the pool.

Also found it weird that there was no investigation, no police anywhere except the end.

I think of this as more of a black comedy or fantasy than horror. The lack of school staff is what makes this film unique. It's high school as seen through the eyes of the fellow students – a hostile place where classmates are enemies and adults are invisible.
