Hey, what was up with your eyebrows in the movie??

reply

Dear Rodney,

I want you to know I first saw this film at 9 years old on Saturday afternoon on WPIX in 1988. I actually taped it, and even though it was edited (all they cut out was the nudity), it was beyond belief. What I did do in fall of 2004 is show 7 of my studnets in eight grade the edited version, and we did a review on it for film book titled Hidden Entertainment Mediums. They loved the film, and understood the point. Please let me know what else you are working on. I will without a doubt check it out. You were a highlight in the film. After all, "you earned it" as you said to David. Great actor you are, no lie. You are welcome to email me at [email protected] Yours, Joseph

Hey how did your character die again?

reply

Very well - thoroughly, completely dead at the finish.
Died as only can die ...

Actually blown up on car he bought from dead student's parents. David did it ...

but don't tell anyone!

Enjoy!!!

Very well done. I would have liked for Rodney to have been a more prominent character. He seemed like he had an interesting back story with his dad and chickens. He wasn't a nerd or someone who would easily get picked on. Maybe because he didn't have the money the other kids did he became a target of their cruelty? He seemed like someone who was coping (at least at first) and didn't want sympathy when it was extended to him. He was well played in that he never seemed to really fit in anywhere but where he was at in his head. He and David seemed like they were both loners who may not have become close, but certainly would have respected each other for their strong individuality in the face of glaring conformity if events had worked out differently. They seemed like lonely loners, too, in that there was something missing that they were tentatively, maybe even reluctantly, seeking in those who surrounded them.
