Yup, agreed about the 8.5 (if not a 9.5). I remember my dad taking me to see this when it was first in the theaters, and by the end both of us were sitting there just completely exhausted, as if we'd lived through it ourselves. I've rewatched it at least once every five or so years since then (and sometimes even more often) and I've NEVER gotten tired of It. The scene where Roy Scheider fights the assassin in his hotel room while the old man in the wheelchair across the street tries to get someone to believe what he's seeing never ceases to amaze me. But then, I could say that about at least ten or fifteen other great scenes in this movie (without even mentioning the dental torture scene). I've seen lots of great thrillers, but this is still the greatest thriller I've ever seen.
