Logan's Run starring Jon Voight, Lindsey Wagner, William Devane, ...
and James Cagney! Imagine had they used that cast instead?!? I prefer the cast they did use.
Well, most people are idiots with bad taste...so there!

Not bad. We would've had a Logan more intense than the Francis in this iteration. And I'd like Melinda Naud as Holly. (There's a name probably only guys who grew up in the late '70s will know!)
shareDevane would have looked too old to play Francis in 1976. This is him in Marathon Man from that year:

I had forgotten all about Melinda Naud. Yeah, she was a little honey.
I really don't think Devane looked any older than Richard Jordan who played Francis in '76.
shareJust a few years before Logans Run in 1971 and 1972, Richard Jordan looked like a 20 year old kid in Lawman and Chato's Land. I think he looked at least a decade younger than Devane in 1976. Look at the crow's feet and jowls on Devane in the pic I linked.
shareHow Jordan looked in 1971 or '72 is irrelevant. By 1976 he looked the same age as William Devane, regardless of who's technically older. And crow's feet and jowliness could be congenital - not necessarily a sign of aging. Devane also had a better head of hair in '76 than Jordan, and that would have befitted the character in the hedonistic domed city better.
