Were bras banned in the 23rd century?

I'm not complaining, but there isn't a single woman in this movie wearing a bra.

Is this one of the first steps in building a utopian society? LOL

I've...seen things you people wouldn't believe...

reply

Well, since they never breast-feed children and never grow old, i think a bra for support would just be a waste.

You think too much of me. I'm not that clever.

reply

LMAO. Some of them had some tig ol' bitties too... even by 30 w/out breastfeeding, they would sag. Maybe there was less gravity than norm in that biosphere we weren't aware of... but then, most of the ppl would be floating if that were the case(?)

reply

Wrong. Breasts keep their shape much more when a woman has not carried a child and breastfed. I can tell you 100% for sure because I've had a girlfriend who never bore a child and her breasts were more than alright at 40 something!

reply

I can vouch for 50.

reply

there was a topless scene but beautiful jenny agutter was not well endowed.why not get the woman with whoppers topless?

reply

There has been a lot of debate in recent years over this, sparked largely by a French study which suggested bras actually *increase* sagging.

Ah, don't forget the New You salons. Any flaw was just a painless laser nip away from perfection.

It was the 70s. Besides, they went for the Greco-Roman toga look (for the ladies).

reply

No, bras were banned in the 1970's.

reply

Yep, lots of women didn't wear bras back in the 70s and 80s.

reply

I Loved the OP...

Yes, and that is why the 23rd century is awesome.

reply

There was also supposed to be a lot more skin throughout the movie, but they decided against it.

reply

let's hope there are no bras...or panties...

reply

The 70's, women abandoned bras, also was before bikini wax/shaving, and by the look of the costumes, those on set got a real treat, well beyond the absence of a bra.

reply

I was there (the 70's) and the 70's were nothing like the 23'rd century.

I was there in the 23rd century and you'd be surprised how similar it will be to the 70's!

Between the drugs, and promiscuous sex between the hippies, not to ever forget the protest of Vietnam, but since we haven't reached 2300, we'll not know, since war has yet to cease!

I would be happy if the movies went back to the 70s' gratuitous nudity over today's senseless violence.
