He really was evil. Swore up and down to Jessica that he was honestly trying to run, and yet even when they'd gotten past the orgy and down to the door to the secret underground hideout, he betrayed them and got dozens of people killed. It's crazy that Jessica was so willing to forgive him when he not only lied to her, but cost Jessica's friends their lives and almost got her killed, too.
