Attention: Warner Bros. even Ted Turner "lost" Logan's Run (1976)
Please consider this a serious and formal fan request for someone at Warner Bros. to investigate my informative claim. A mission to see if any lost footage from this film you have the rights to can be recovered from Canada. Also, I read Ted Turner unsuccessfully searched high n' low for what was lost before he sold.
I've seen the unedited Logan`s Run in Canada. If memory serves me correctly, this version was broadcasted for the Saturday late afternoon movie once or twice a year. The time-frame was during late 70s to early or even mid 80s. This version had more footage than the Special Advance Preview print and formatted for television. Below, simply one example I remember well-enough. This entire scene is not present in the Official Theatrical Cut.
Happy turn:
The 2ND WOMAN was trimmed-out from the SAP according to fan research from Virtual Vikki.
The 2ND WOMAN in pink-orange on the left was present in the Canadian unedited TV version.

FRANCIS
and that's my friend, Logan.
(as she acknowledges
the introduction)
We're celebrating his next in line.
Carousel - Arcade - who knows?
Want to come along?
WOMAN (smiles, shakes her head)
Only if I make it to the top of
Carousel.
(she holds up her hand)
Thirty -- and the big spin.
In her palm the crystal blinks, red, black. Francis nods, gives her
a half-squeeze.
FRANCIS
You're thirty -- already? I always
thought I was older than you -
(beat)
Well, give it a good try.
WOMAN (pleasantly)
You know I always have.
Another beautiful WOMAN joins them.
2ND WOMAN (to the first)
Sorry I won't be at Carousel tonight.
It's my Love-Shop turn.
WOMAN
That's all right. Happy turn.
2ND WOMAN
You'll renew. I've got a feeling.
WOMAN (smiles)
So do I...but if I don't at least I'll
have the ultimate thrill. I'd almost
rather have that than renew.
2ND WOMAN
I feel the same way. Sometimes I think
I'm not even going to try and renew when
my time comes. But -- that's three years away.
So long.
The 2nd Woman walks away.
FRANCIS (after a beat;
to first Woman)
It's been nice.
WOMAN
Um-huh.
They look briefly and then she turns away. Francis takes Logan's arm
and they move off.
FRANCIS
I guess you never had her?
Logan shakes his head.
FRANCIS
You missed something special.
My best recollection as to what station it was is ITV Edmonton Channel 13 Cable 8. ITV was an independent station that joined Albertan airwaves with CTV plus the English and one French CBC channel in 1974. ITV became part of Global Television Network in 2000. I believe they still operate the original studio and broadcasting centre. ITV was once the goto channel for Sci-Fi themed programming on weekend afternoons.
What happened with the movies in the old days was distributors typically submitted films to the Canadian CRTC unedited or uncut. The CRTC was very relaxed back then plus a bit on the lazy-side and usually didn't snip out anything from movies. Requested prints or videotapes of could still be edited for television by whichever station doing the actual broadcasting. I heard all this discussed once on an ancient radio-show in mind-numbing detail.
CTV broadcasted Logan`s Run for the TV premiere; although, I think it was a kind of time-shifted simulcast of the CBS cable feed/US TV edit with CTV filling in the commercial slots. The CBC rarely broadcast popular or recent Hollywood movies back then. Most likely it was ITV and especially when it came to re-airing slightly older movies often. I also watched Saturn 3 somewhat unedited and about certain as memory allows it was on ITV too.
Love to see the movie studio find a copy someday soon.
