De Niro and Nicholson--Only Film Together?

I have been wracking my brain trying to remember any other movies in which both of these seminal stars have appeared together. This appears to be the only one, unless someone of superior knowlege can enlighten me.

reply

try punching their names in together on one of the star's pages.

reply

it's the only one.

In enjoyed their scenes very much

Trust me. It's rubbish.

Luke_Veinot, I think you are mistaken there. If memory serves me correctly, Scorcese wanted De Niro for the role in which Nicholson played in The Departed - but due to scheduling problems (ie The Good Shepherd), unfortunately De Niro had to knock back this part.

reply

I'm pretty sure De Niro was set to Sheen's role.

I stick my neck out for nobody.

reply

Nope,De Niro was supposed to have Jack's role....

De Niro was slated for Jack's role after he was initially offered the part eventually allotted to Martin Sheen.

De Niro vs. Nicholson in a Scorsese-directed mob movie would have been ungodly. Alas, it was not to be.

Oh, and this movie blows.

reply

as fare as movies go, yes, this is the only one we will see them together; they have also done a couple of documentaries.

reply

Are they in any scenes together? I've never seen this movie. Thanks.

reply

yes.

I saw THE LAST TYCOON last fall. Robert De Niro plays a movie producer and is the star of the film. Jack Nicholson has only a supporting role in this film as a Communist writer and does not appear on screen until very late in the film. However, both Robert De Niro and Jack Nicholson share scenes together. Yes, to the best of my knowledge, this is the only film in which Robert De Niro and Jack Nicholson appeared together.

reply

Their scenes together are great and are definitely worth seeing, it's just that the film is sadly quite dull and doesn't go anywhere.
