How did Dwan end up at the ground level next to Kong's body?

He clearly put her down and it's not like she could jump off and land on him down below.

I love it when he pounds him-Terry Silver

Roof access door to the elevators. The movie just sped up the time.

We had to watch Jack struggle to get up to the roof. Did we need another scene with Dwan struggling to get down to the street too??

reply

There's these things called elevators - they even existed in the 1970s, along with indoor plumbing and television. Moron.

reply

Yeah, but dude, she's down there INSTANTLY. It's a really badly edited moment.

reply

Its called gravity. Elevators can go down 10 times the speed than going up.

There's some truth to it though because when Dwan stands besides or in front of King Kong the photographers come rushing towards her. Surely one would expect they'd been there 5 minutes earlier to take their photos while She was on the way down from the roof of the building. Didn't look "in-sync"! Probably a poor cut.

Also wondering when Bridges et al first went into the fort (when approached by the man who wanted to make a deal). How did they manage to get in if it was supposed to be a fort good enough to withstand the attacks of a giant ape.

Anyway, an alright movie. I liked it and not annoyed at all over the quality of the animal King Kong. Thought he looked alright. Yet to see the original but any day now...

Despite the introductory scenes being kind of creaky, the original is a whole lot better; enjoy!

My favorite dumb thing about that ending scene: all of the photographers are aiming right at her and ignoring the GIANT DEAD GORILLA right behind her. Uh...

reply

They've already taken pictures of the 'giant dead gorilla'. Didn't you see them on top of the body taking photos??

Every now and then when I am looking up KING KONG I stumble across this comment and I always want to comment back but I just don't, but this time I just decided to write a reply. Please understand that I am not in any way trying to be condescending to you or am I trying to make fun of your comment.

That being said, I am curious how old you are and I wonder if you are from America. The reason I wonder this is because you clearly have no concept of how to watch a movie. The reason you do not see Jessica Lange walk to the elevator and take the elevator down to the ground level and walk out of the building and then make her way through the crowd and then stand next to KONG is because it would have taken too long. Lots of times movies make cuts because if movies were shot in "real time" and we saw EVERYTHING, movies would all be seventeen hours long and nobody wants to see a seventeen hour movie.

I will give you another example. In that famous scene in "ROCKY" you see Rocky on top of the steps dancing around with his arms up with the song "Gonna Fly Now" playing loudly. The very next shot is a magazine tacked to the wall of Rocky's apartment and the camera moves down and we see Rocky in bed. I am guessing if you saw the movie you would be wondering how Rocky got off the museum steps so fast and got home and got into bed. We did not have to see Rocky walk off the steps and go home and have dinner and take off his sweatsuit and get into bed, he's just there in the shot and people that understand how to watch movies just accept this and they are not confused.

I hope this made it more clear for you.
