My wife and I just finished debating which version to watch... and we're going with the 1976 cut. Since we enjoy slow talkie films (especially post war Italian cinema) we though to give it a go.

Hope you had fun. I just finished watching the 1976 cut for the first time as well. Very interesting movie. It had a lot of subtle character development, I thought.
