All the way through I kept thinking Quentin Tarantino would love this film. Then Wikipedia confirmed this is actually one of his favourites and influenced him when making Inglorious Basterds!

Great film, makes SAVING PRIVATE RYAN seem like a goddamn Disney production!

I felt this was right up his alley too; tough, unsentimental and chock-full of great action. Offbeat, but a gritty and real look at war.
