black comedy
this is right up there. i saw this and i have to say its funny in a dark way. not many can pull it off. the dialogue and acting is witty esp. the contrast between honorable steiner and the spoiled stransky
shareYes, there's a certain tone, the weary gallows-humour of those who know that they might be dead next minute, and some of the situations, like Stransky's "heroics" in the bunker.
shareMost of Peckinpah's films had a good deal of extremely dark humor in them. Usually it was during scenes that you wouldn't normally think to laugh at.
