The old lady in the cage??

Hi Laranadtony,
That is a good question, and for me, one of the most memorable scenes in the movie. Maybe she was someone whom George Spahn knew; she looked to be quite old, as he was.

One of the books, I can't remember which, mentions the lady as actually being there, but I can't remember if they gave her name.

Bred, I was thinking the same thing, but cannot remember the book either. I do not think that a name was mentioned, but I could be wrong on that.

It was the first Helter Skelter book written by Bugliosi. Just some 80 year old layd layin' with the dogs...No name was ever mentioned.

I think that she was supposed to be either senile or mentally-retarded. She may have been someone that they found living on the streets. It doesn't seem as if it is explained in either the movie or the book.
