Watch the DVD and look closely at the early scene when the police do the ranch raid on suspicion of auto theft.

When Manson is apprehended, after chiding Shorty Shea for snitching, the camera pulls in while the narrator gives a quick summary of Charlie's birthright. when the scene fades out, a ghostly image of his face stays on the screen for a couple seconds.

Oh, my God! It scared the crap out of me at first. Still does. I don't know if that is supposed to be that "slight pause" that DVD's say will happen with the layer transition or if it was intentional and has always been there.

That white impression of Manson's face against the black was totally unexpected, really reminded me of the subliminal demons sprinkled in THE EXORCIST.
