Who was 'Cisco Budge?'
I assume it was a pseudonym created for somebody in order to protect an innocent person (who was still alive when this movie was produced) and/or avoid a lawsuit.

Thanks for the info. If you don't mind me asking, what was your source? Also, why did they come up with a name like "Cisco Budge." Not only does it sound odd, it doesn't even come close to resembling Bruce Davis.

Well, you just have to put two and two together. They don't mention Bruce Davis anywhere in the movie and the parts where Decarlo is being told of "Boots" being among the dead, Vincent says Cisco Bugde was there. Bruce was at the murder of Zero (Boots). I don't know why they did it. They don't use Lyn or Sandy's names either.

Good detective work. I just finished watching the 2004 remake of "Helter Skelter" and I have no memory of these names being mentioned in this version as well.

I don't think they ever mentioned the attempted murder of Barbara Hoyt either. IIRC in Honolulu she was fed an LSD-laced hamburger by two of the girls whose names I can't recall. I think one was Squeaky though.

They also called Kitty Lutesinger "Kitty Lassiter" and called Squeaky "Freckles".

shareI don't know. The movie came out in 1976 and I believe Squeaky tried to assassinate Gerald Ford in 1974. I can't remember when she was tried, though.

I remember hearing ongoing legal matters involving those characters during the production of the film was the reasoning for pseudonyms. I can't cite my source all these years later.
