What was that wink ? possible spoilers!!
At the very end Barbara Harris turns to the audience and winks. What was that all about? Anything to do with the plot, or just a Hitchcock trippy thing?

shareShe was faking it, had no psychic powers. She knew about the diamond in the chandlier. Adam and the girl were talking about it.
shareand it was improvised, so it had nothing to do with Hitc;)
shareI must disagree. Since it did have to do with Blanche hearing Adamson say "Let's go get another diamond for our chandelier"...the wink had to be planned (she gives it to the camera) for that to pay off.
One of the ad lines for "Family Plot" was "You Must See it Twice," which could meaningful in a number of ways for a Hitchcock film, but here it was so that you could find out why Blanche winked: because she heard Adamson say the line.
Also, of course, this allowed Barbara Harris to wink out at us FOR Hitchocck, and in the print ads for "Family Plot", Hitchcock himself winked out at us from a crystal ball.
"Family Plot" proved to be Hitchcock's Last Wink Goodbye.
